What if I can’t link my account via Plaid?

If you are trying to deposit or withdraw funds from Max Checking and your account is not available on Plaid, you can connect your Max Checking account to your existing bank or credit union using your Max Checking account and routing number. 


How to connect Max Checking using your account and routing number:

  1. Log in to your Max Dashboard.
  2. Open the navigation menu and click "Checking."
  3. At the top of the page, next to the last 4 of your account number, click (show details) to display the full account and routing number.
  4. In a separate window or tab, log into your external bank’s online banking portal.
  5. Link your Max Checking using the account and routing number. (Note: the institution will be listed as "Customers Bank.")
  6. Once your account is linked, you can use your bank’s online banking portal to set up deposits or withdrawals to/from your Max Checking account. 


Note: Your bank may ask you to confirm a set of micro-deposits. To view these deposits, navigate to the “Checking” page on Max and scroll down to view your Max Checking Transaction History.
